Dr. Yao Wang is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastics. This includes extensive experience with cosmetic procedures around the eye such as upper and lower blepharoplasties, endoscopic brow lifts, mid-face lifts, fat grafting, and injectable fillers such as BOTOX®.

Dr. Wang earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. After her internship at the University of California, Los Angeles, she went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota, where she was further recruited to complete a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship. Finally, she matriculated in an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she became an expert in eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital surgeries.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Wang conducted numerous research projects, including clinical trials on TEPEZZA (teprotumumab-trbw) for the treatment of thyroid eye disease. In the last five years, Dr. Wang has contributed over 40 publications to medical literature and given numerous talks at national meetings. Her clinical skills and academic achievements earned her many awards during her training, including the Oculoplastics Surgeon Award, the Harry Friedman Research Award, and the Poland-Finke Chair Award.

Internationally, Dr. Wang (who can read, write, and speak fluent Chinese) has operated in Shanghai, China, which gave her a unique perspective on the differences in patient expectations when it comes to standards of beauty across different cultures. During this time, she built the necessary and unique skillset that enables her to achieve those aesthetic standards and ensure patient satisfaction.

During her free time, Dr. Wang is very active and loves outdoor activities, such as running, hiking, biking, camping, snowboarding, and recreational off-roading. She is also a foodie with a big appetite, and is ready to explore every restaurant, bakery, and food truck out there.
